Rilasciata Ubuntu 14.04.1 Trusty Tahr LTS, versione che include tutti gli aggiornamenti approdati fino ad oggi.

Canonical ha rilasciato il nuovo Ubuntu 14.04.1 Trusty Tahr LTS, versione che include tutti gli aggiornamenti approdati fino ad oggi.

Questo aggiornamento non introduce tante novità, ma integra tutti gli aggiornamenti software rilasciati fino ad ora.

Gli sviluppatori hanno rilasciato sia il file in formato ISO, per l’installazione da zero del sistema operativo, sia l’aggiornamento, scaricabile da chi già possiede Ubuntu 14.04 o inferiori dal gestore degli aggiornamenti.

Aggiornamento:
Se abbiamo già installato Ubuntu 14.04. Trusty Tahr  basterà aggiornare la distribuzione con il consueto gestore degli aggiornamenti per avere la nuova versione.

  Adam Conrad has announced the release of Ubuntu 14.04.1, the first maintenance update of the popular distribution's current stable release: "The Ubuntu team is pleased to announce the release of Ubuntu 14.04.1 LTS (long-term support) for its Desktop, Server, Cloud, and Core products, as well as other flavours of Ubuntu with long-term support. As usual, this point release includes many updates, and updated installation media has been provided so that fewer updates will need to be downloaded after installation. These include security updates and corrections for other high-impact bugs, with a focus on maintaining stability and compatibility with Ubuntu 14.04 LTS. Kubuntu 14.04.1 LTS, Edubuntu 14.04.1 LTS, Xubuntu 14.04.1 LTS, Mythbuntu 14.04.1 LTS, Ubuntu GNOME 14.04.1 LTS, Lubuntu 14.04.1 LTS, Ubuntu Kylin 14.04.1 LTS, and Ubuntu Studio 14.04.1 LTS are also now available." Per gli utenti che hanno già scaricato la ISO di Ubuntu 14.04 è possibile aggiornarla ad Ubuntu 14.04.1 Trusty Tahr senza doverla riscaricare semplicemente utilizzando il tool Zsync.

Zsync è un fantastico programma che scarica le parti di un file che sono cambiate nel server. Una cosa molto bella riguardo come vengono create le immagini dei CD di Ubuntu è che con zsync è facile tenere una copia locale aggiornata. Dato che le immagini giornaliere cambiano di solito solo in minima parte, il processo può essere abbastanza veloce.
