Stanco del solito sfondo? Ecco qualche programma per cambiare il desktop della tua Ubuntu in automatico.I tre programmi che andrò a descrivere sono: Drapes, Wallpapoz e Wallpaper Changer Screenlet. Tutti e 3 svolgono molto bene il loro compito senza pesare eccessivamente sulle prestazione del sistema.
Una volta avviato Drapes e facilmente gestibile tramite la try-icon, che ci permette una completa gestione delle impostazioni, interessante la funzionalità di tenere sotto controllo una cartella in modo che quando si aggiunge un Wallpaper in essa verra aggiunto in automatico agli sfondi da far ruotare.

Se si utilizza Ubuntu l’istallazione è semplicissima, Drapes è presente nei repository, si istalla facilmente con Synaptic oppure con il solito:
sudo apt-get install drapes
Una volta istallato Drapes si avvia da Sistema -> Preferenza → Desktop Drapes.
L'ultima release stabile è la 0.5.2
What's Desktop Drapes
- Desktop drapes is a wallpaper manager application for the gnome desktop. It can randomly changing your wallpaper every once in a while, or whenever you fell like it. It can also automaticaly pickup any wallpapers you added to a directory with the ninja magic of inotify. It's written using C# (mono) with the help of Gtk#/Gnome#. - The anonymous access to the tree should be availble at git://ninkendo.org/drapes.git . To check out the code just simply type in git clone git://ninkendo.org/drapes.git .
- Ken also provided me with www access to git web, you can access it here.
- So starting the bzr trees and launchpad clones will seam unmaintained. Hopefuly, launchpad supports adding git branches somewhat soon.
Wallpaper Changer Screenlet
Se hai istallato Screenlets puoi utilizzare Wallpaper Changer Screenlet. Le funzionalità interessanti di questa screenlet e la possibilità di scaricare le migliori foto del giorno da flickr o interfacciarsi con art.gnome e google image. Per utilizzarlo basta scaricare il file .tar.gz e istallarlo tramite Screenlets Manager.
Installation
Install as usual by extracting the contents of the screenlet's archive to the directory "$HOME/.screenlets".

Wallpapoz
Le caratteristiche più rilevanti sono la visualizzazione di un’anteprima del Wallpaper che si seleziona e la possibilità di impostare delle differenti cartelle contenenti immagini da far ruotare per ogni desktop virtuale, in modo da poter cambiare tipologia di sfondi in base all’umore in cui ci si trova, semplicemente ruotando il cubo.
Leggere il file readme, semplice e chiaro. Fate attenzione alle dipendenze software.
Permette di aggiungere uno sfondo per ciascun desktop, se ne avete più di uno, e di cambiarlo al trascorrere di un intervallo di tempo da voi specificato.
Walpapoz non è presente nei repository ufficiali di Ubuntu quindi, per installarlo, scaricate il seguente pacchetto .deb: wallpapoz_0.4.1-0ubuntu2_all.deb
oppure
scaricate il file .tar.gz, scompattatelo in una direcotry e poi da terminate digitate: sudo python setup.py install
Una volta installato lo trovate nel menù Applicazioni>Accessori.
Configurare Wallpapoz è veramente semplice.
Cliccando sul pulsante "Preferences" vi apparirà una finestra nella quale è possibile impostare l'intervallo di tempo (in minuti) tra un cambio di sfondo e l'altro.
Spuntando la voce "Pick wallpaper in random order" farete in modo che gli sfondi vengano presi in modo casuale. Potete anche decidere, dalla voce "Style", se volete che l'immagine sia riscalata, ingrandita, centrata, ecc.
Per lanciare Wallpapoz ad ogni avvio del sistema andare in Sistema>Preferenze>Sessioni.
Nella scheda "Programmi d'avvio" cliccate sul pulsante "Aggiungi". Nella finestra che compare nella voce "Nome" digitate "Wallpapoz" e in comando inserite "/usr/bin/deamon_wallpapoz" senza le virgolette.
Chiudete la finestra ed il gioco è fatto.
